FAQ'S

DO I NEED THERAPY?

Everyone needs help now and then. You already have some strengths that you’ve used before, that for whatever reason aren't working right now. Perhaps this problem feels overwhelming and is making it difficult to access your past strengths. In our work together, We'll help you identify what those strengths are and how to implement them again in what is happening now.

HOW DOES THERAPY HELP? WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TALKING TO YOU OR MY BEST FRIEND OR FAMILY?

A mental health professional can help you approach your situation in a new way– teach you new skills, gain different perspectives, listen to you without judgment or expectations, and help you listen to yourself. Furthermore, therapy is completely confidential. You won’t have to worry about others “knowing my business.” There are many benefits from having an objective person provide support and help you develop effective coping skills.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

The answer is not the same for everyone. Each person's circumstances are unique to them and the length of time therapy can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek therapy in the first place.

Our sessions are 50 minutes long. We recommend that you continue counseling until you have reached the goals that you discussed with your therapist at the beginning.

WILL MY INSURANCE COVER THERAPY?

Heber Valley Healing is a provider for many different insurance plans, including DMBA, BCBS Regence, PEHP, Select Health and more. Please check with us to verify insurance coverage.

Heber Valley Healing does not bill any out-of-network insurances, but we can offer a Super-bill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

IS THERAPY CONFIDENTIAL?

We maintain privacy and confidentiality with all of our clients, including the information that a client is in treatment with a therapist. All conversations in therapy are confidential and cannot be disclosed without the client's written consent. There are three exceptions to this: suspected child/elder abuse, if a client threatens serious harm to another person, or if a client intends to harm himself/herself.

DO YOU PRESCRIBE MEDICATION?

As mental health counselors, we are not licensed to prescribe medication. We are happy to refer you to a doctor who specializes in medication management.
